The 09 Nemesis HP is the first kite to be fully equipped with Twister Techtm.

Twister Techtm is a new leading edge construction technology that uses continuous segments of Kevlar-reinforced fabric built into the leading edge. These kevlar inserts are arranged so that they are able to deform with a twisting motion when exposed to steering loads via the canopy.

The addition of Twister Techtm to the LE of the 09 Nemesis HP allows almost the entire canopy to generate effective turning force in response to rider input. By allowing each LE section to twist independently, Twister Techtm increases the kite's turning speed, reduces the turning circle, and minimizes the bar pressure required to make any turn when compared to a standard leading edge construction.

Twister Techtm helps make your kite turn faster and tighter, with less rider effort.

2009 BEST kites are beautiful!!!! I took out the Black and White 2009 13m Waroo and this is my favorite design and color. The 13m Waroo flew super smooth, nice bar pressure, turned tight for a big kite. The HP Nemesis 2009 features the new Twister Tech design with smaller leading edge. Both the 12m and 10m HP flew beautiful, turned very tight, quick, and very responsive. I also tested the 8m HP Nemesis, 11m Waroo. Also tested the new Ouija boards: 129cm and 134cm as well as the new Thruster 5'7". The new BEST harness is also very light and comfortable. The spreader bar has hold down webbing preventing it from rising up while kiting. Tomorrow, I will test the new Guroo 9m

Today Thursday July 17, 2008. Jamie and I tested the new 2009 Nemesis HP 10m and 2008 Nemesis HP 10m back-to-back. The new 2009 Nemesis HP 10m turns really quick and fast: we had a blast riding waves. It is super fun to pull kiteloops with it. I was getting some nice airs trying the Slim chance Kiteloop. The new 2009 10m HP is very solid, quick turning, smooth, and xtremely stable. The new 2009 Bar is also super nice with very nice flying lines. Check out the pictures...

We had great time demo the new 2009 BEST 13m Waroo, 9m Waroo and 10m HP Nemesis this weekend. Those who tested the kites were super stoked!

Here is what Stephan Woehl wrote about his testing:

THANKS Kinsley for coming out and letting me try out those three new awesome kites. I spoke with many other riders that tried them and they were definitely super stoked as well. My personal favorite has to be the 10m Nemesis, mostly because I am a 1-kite quiver kind of guy and this one fits the bill for most of my riding spots. It is just the kite I have been looking for with great low-end, rock-solid, incredibly stable, and ridiculously fast and fast turning. Like the other two kites, it has three settings for turning speed adjustment and every rider should try them all out to see what setting they like best in what conditions. I also really liked the two 09 Waroos, which I would buy for a 2 or 3-kite quiver. With my 180 lb, the 9m Waroo is the perfect high-wind kite but with the wind hardly blowing more than the low 20's yesterday, I was impressed with how quickly it got me going and how much boost it provided for jumps. The 13m Waroo feels as if you are pulled behind a boat. Unbelievable power, great up-wind ability, and still the fastest turning 13m I ever rode. It's a great kite for those low-wind days or a perfect allround kite for many spots in SoCal. The only downside to trying the new kites ... I have to put up with my old gear until they are available :)

Check out the video:

Michael tested the 10m HP Nemesis 2009. I had the kite set up for my style: AC setting. Michael came in after his first ride with the 10m HP and he told that the 55cm bar would be better. I sent Michael out again with the AA setting on the 10m HP with 45cm bar and he came back with a huge smile and super stoked. Here is what Michael wrote:

I was one of those lucky ones who had an opportunity last Friday to test 2009 Nemesis HP 10m - thanks a lot to Kinsley from XtremeBigAir.
One word: frustration... Mad That's right - it was pretty dumn frustrating to discover that my current kite (2008 HP 12m) is no longer at the peak of the kite design.
At first it seemed a reguler kite, and I suggested it might be better to change the bars from 45cm to 55cm. After Kinsley pointed out it was on AC, he set it to AA and ... wow! That kite is a beast! 45cm is definitely more than enough.
Very light bar pressure (literally zero), and super fast. The turns are just lightning fast. The ride itself is also faster. I ride 2008 Mako Wide (150cm), and normally bypass others on regular twin-tips, but on that 09' HP I was going even faster. How is it possible?
Boosts are also pretty impressive, and very easy. I had only about 20min on it, so couldn't really test, but I am sure the reviews will be coming soon.
Thanks again to XtremeBigAir!

osted: Sat Sep 06, 2008 3:18 am Post subject: 2009 hp 10m - just my opinion yes, i have one - yes i like it better than my 2008 HP 10m - you can skip the rest if you like

out of the bag

same pump as last years - same kit

bag is green with some fancy graphics and the zipper has been shortened and so has the extension which means you could cut out the mesh if you wanted

the 'hat' is no longer removable - basically same as last years bag

twister tech - there are a lot of these little black spots on the kite and even into the dacron part and you can see that it does flex it kind of reminds me of discs in your back so it does bend and twist

there are more seams in the LE and i think that makes it smoother

it is interesting because the kite doesn't buckle as easily - it bends on those twister tech spots - you might be able to run less PSI

the kite is a bit longer than the 10m 2008 HP but roughly the same depth - basically the same kite - the struts have been moved inward - bridles look the same

membrane valves in all the struts and the exhaust valve on the main bladder seems a bit better

there are only four knots on the rear lines vice last years 6

so right off the beach on 3rd line with the 55cm bar 23m lines - light winds A-A

light bar pressure and light steering pressure- had a tendency to stall - really tight pivot turns and loops

A-B a bit more wind - better feedback on the bar

rode that way for three hours and wind kept getting better

the theme on this kite is turning - twister tech must work because it takes much less energy to turn this kite - it turns faster and tighter than a 2008 10 HP

jumping - it jumps better in less wind because it can change directions faster - so you get better sent jumps - float is about the same - but that secondary lift is easier to get

turning - much easier to turn - reminded me of a bularoo 10m where i could turn with one arm again- what's more it can turn well even depowered - chicken kite loops are very doable

upwind- the kite does fly more to the side and is very good upwind kite - but what is really noticed was i could get faster board speed - so faster board speed - quicker redirect = better jumps

wave riding - because of its fast turning - it was very good in waves - it was also easy to control the power in a turn - a 2008 HP you have to pull in the bar to turn - 2009 you can control you speed in a turn

kite loops - i aint no expert but the 2008 HP has this one spot that really rips you horizontal - cracked rib to prove it- the 2009 is smoother and you have the option of doing a chicken kite loop - you can decide which is better

stalling - if there is a problem with the 2009 it is easier to stall - and i have typically run so i could get really good tension on the rear lines to get good steering - but with the 2009 i dont think it needs it - also it seems to have shorter range required for power/depower - given i have long arms -

i might have to increase the size of my chicken loop - which is non standard setup so i can decrease my throw

relaunch? haven't a clue - it did not get wet

random thoughts - the kite turns up very well - better than the 2008 HP

the 2008 HP took some effort to start moving the 2009 just starts moving right away - so sining the 2009 was a big slow sine - the 2008 you can do whatever you want

in fact the 2009 is more of a flier kite - keep it moving and what's more it can move

you will get the most benefit from the kite if you throw it around

A-B has a bit more bar pressure than A-A on the 2008 - and A-A has bit less than A-A on the 2008 - i think i would like to play with that some more

clearing waves - i really like the ability to pop a jump over waves and this kite is great at doing that - that means you can pull the bar down with it over head and get some height - some kites are all send it jumps and get no pop that way

summary - love the kite

and finally - props to Kinsely Wong xtreme big air for putting up with me as a customer -

definitely if you are buying Best you should buy from him

David

================= September 25, 2008 David wrote: Kinsley,

Just thought i would drop a line and say i really love the new HP 10m.

i went through a couple of days where it just seemed to have no low end and then bang - it all came together

i think the bridle stretched out a bit, i got used to it, and finally got the lines setup

i am now on A-A using the last knot away from the kite -

A-B is pretty good too but is too hard on my joints for long sessions

love how it turns and loops and is wonderful in the waves - relaunch is a breeze in light winds and it seems to jump pretty good - goes upwind in really light wind

just a fun kite

anyway, thanks again for working with me on this kite.

David
